KC CREW celebrates 10 years with a bang!

On April 11, 2008, KC CREW celebrated 10 years of women effecting change in the Kansas City commercial real estate market. Mark One Electric, Inc. and Privitera Properties served as lead sponsors for the event.

The program began with a luncheon attended by approximately 150 guests, who enjoyed the keynote address delivered by Nadia Bilchik, a well-known news anchor for CNN International and author of “The Little Book of Networking Ideas: A Guide to Expert Networking”. Nadia spoke about effective ways to build lasting business relationships. Following lunch, Nadia led us in an afternoon workshop where we learned how to put her advice into practice.

The day concluded with a cocktail reception to celebrate KC CREW’s 10th anniversary. The reception, sponsored by M & I Bank and Stewart Title, highlighted the organizations past events and past presidents. The past presidents in attendance each were presented with an anniversary certificate to commemorate KC CREW’s accomplishments and to express KC CREW’s gratitude for their involvement. Past presidents include:

Sandy Hollenbeck 1997-98
Roxanne Miller Doyle 1999
Kathy Schikevitz 2000
Marsha Laner 2001
Pam Berneking 2002
Cheri Ricky 2003
Linda Peroff 2004
Elizabeth Fast 2005
Cydney Gurgens 2006
Rosie Privitera Biondo 2007

Sandy Hollenbeck, the first president of KC CREW, recounted the founding of the chapter. From its inception in 1997 to the present time, KC CREW has grown to more than 125 members and has become the organization of choice for women in the commercial real estate industry.

We thank our 10th anniversary sponsors, guests, attendees and volunteers who made the 10th anniversary event memorable. Many new relationships were established that day, and many others were strengthened. We look forward to another 10 years of doing deals together, networking opportunities, great speakers, good friends, and an even larger group of women leaving their legacies in the Kansas City commercial real estate market.
