2010 WEN Heart to Heart Luncheon

The impact of KC CREW’s commitment as a charitable partner of the Women’s Employment Network (WEN) was evident in the tears and hugs shared at the Annual Heart to Heart Luncheon, April 28, at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center.  Ten CREW members listened as WEN graduates and staff emotionally described the positive impact the WEN has had on their lives.  As a nonprofit organization, WEN provides women with employment assistance, support and training.  Services range from interview preparation, to resume development and advice on child care. 

CREW members heard WEN graduates tell of their appreciation for all the valuable tools they gained in the program.  Each woman agreed that those tools, along with the caring support of the organization helped empower them to move forward during times of personal challenge.  The heartfelt gratitude of the WEN graduates was evident in their stories of overcoming unforeseen job loss, and managing the daily trials of working as a single parent.  

Each year KC CREW supports the WEN with donations from the annual charity golf tournament, clothing drive and job fairs.  A generous thank-you on behalf of WEN and KC CREW for our strong member support of this important community organization focused on creating opportunities for women.
