Members Doing Business Together...
One of the best networking benefits of CREW is the ability to leverage resources. The occupational diversity amongst KC CREW members ensures
a solid resource network for whatever challenges that may arise.
- Jenn Shorrock (Embassy Landscape) and Stephanie Mills (Scott Rice Office Works) are utilizing their connection through KC CREW by sharing companies on calling PM groups, and what the market holds in their vendor world.
- Jennifer Miller (PSI) and Jill Beisma (EAE, Inc.) are collaborating on how their companies can partner on WBE projects.
- Shelly Heflin (Premier Bank) put Patsy Stuke (American Osage Consulting) in touch with a potential employee, whom they hired.
- Christa Krumm of First National Bank referred a client, KC Baptist Temple to Diana Ennis at Stewart Title for title insurance.
- Jill Biesma (EAE, Inc.) gained an environmental assessment via a referral from Traci Peterson (Bryan Cave, LLP). Jill and Traci met through working together on different committees within KC CREW.
- Elizabeth Fast (Spencer Fane) had a bank client that needed a Phase I Environmental audit in conjunction with making an SBA loan, so Elizabeth referred her client to Jill Biesma (EAE, Inc.).
- Jenni Glass (Overland Park Economic Development Council) met John (American Title) at a KC CREW event, and after speaking, John joined the Overland Park Chamber.
- Shanna Vance, Integra Realty Resources, was able to
promptly provide Jennifer Stark, Security Savings Bank, with comparable real estate listings for a project she was working on outside of the
KC area. Additionally, Jennifer was able to refer appraisal work to Integra.
- Integra received several assignments and opportunities from KC CREW relationships in the third quarter of 2008.
- Mark One and Opus are considering an opportunity to do business together - this connection was made through a KC CREW relationship.
- KCK Chamber needed a real estate development attorney for the KS Bioscience - this was accomplished between relationships developed through KC CREW.
- Michelle Suter had a client that needed a person within 24 hours to serve as a court appointed receiver for 84 properties. Michelle called Elizabeth Fast who found her a candidate within just a couple of hours
- Elizabeth Fast (Spencer Fane Britt & Browne) represented the lender on a large apartment complex in downtown KCMO. The lender had to foreclose on the property and needed a broker to help him sell the property. Elizabeth referred her client to Linda Peroff (Colliers Turley Martin Tucker). Both Elizabeth and Linda are Past Presidents of KC CREW.
- Linda Peroff (Colliers Turley Martin Tucker) was the broker selling an apartment complex east of the Plaza. The prospective buyer needed an attorney, so Linda referred the prospective buyer to Elizabeth Fast (Spencer Fane Britt & Browne). After this buyer purchased the apartment complex, the buyer needed a property manager, so Elizabeth referred her client to Ellen Todd (Curry Real Estate Company). Elizabeth and Ellen know each other after serving on the KC CREW Programs Committee.
- Midwest Mechanical Service has preventive maintenance contracts with two KC CREW members' companies: PSI and Brotherhood Bank & Trust.
