KC CREW's Community Services Committee strives to involve members of KC CREW in charitable projects and organizations benefiting the metropolitan Kansas City area. In prior years, the Community Services Committee, often together with other KC CREW committees, has planned and held events to benefit the Women's Employment Network, sponsored a Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure team, and recruited volunteers to work on several Habitat for Humanity houses. Past charitable events have included golf tournaments, pre and post golf tournament events, a wine tasting and cooking demonstration, coat drives for the Johnson County Christmas Bureau, and collecting foodstuffs for Harvesters.
The Programs Committee is responsible for organizing monthly lunch programs that will appeal to a broad audience of various professional disciplines in the commercial real estate field, with a speaker that is well known in the area. In addition to monthly lunch programs the committee organizes happy hour events that provide additional networking opportunities.
KC CREW offers a variety of sponsorship opportunities, with local and national benefits. The Sponsorship Committee works to obtain corporate sponsors for the organization, primarily the annual sponsors and for the monthly luncheon meetings and special events.
The Communications Committee is responsible for researching and implementing creative, effective ways of connecting internally with KC CREW members, and externally between KC CREW and the commercial real estate industry regarding the goals of the CREW Kansas City Chapter, committee goals, and topics of interest. This is accomplished through publishing a quarterly newsletter, capitalizing on public relations opportunities, ensuring the website is current, and crafting an annual marketing campaign.
The Membership Committee is responsible for responding to inquiries about membership from prospective members, communicating with prospective and new members, coordinating membership applications and generally coordinating any aspect of recruiting, processing and welcoming new members into the organization.
Program: The Women who reshaped the Crossroads Trolley Tour
Description: Come and see how women in commercial real estate have shaped our historic crossroads district!
The tour begins at the newly renovated Mid-America Arts Alliance building, the topic of our March program. After walking through with drinks and eats, board the trolley for a whirlwind tour through time that focuses on women who have shaped the area. We will see women owned businesses; women designed renovation projects and discuss deals put together by women lead real estate teams.
Three tours are available, so sign up for the 4:30, 5:15 or 6:00 tour.
If you cannot take the time for the full trolley tour but want to come and mingle, sign up for the “Drop-In” option.
Registration Deadline*: Thursday, May 16, 2013
$25 Member / $35 Non-Member
*A $10 late fee will be applied after the deadline. Cancellations must be submitted before deadline. No-shows will be billed.
Although we will do our best to accommodate walk-in registrations, due to space limitations, we cannot guarantee lunch can be provided without prior reservation.
