Purpose

KC CREW has had a history of philanthropy and service to the community from it's inception in 1997. But it wasn't until the Community Services Committee was formed in 2003 that events like this could be achieved. This is the eighth year KC CREW has hosted a golf event. Through the proceeds of our annual golf tournament, (since 2004) we have donated over $72,000 to local non-profit organizations whose mission it is to improve the lives of women and girls in the community. The KC CREW Annual Charity Golf Tournament has gained the reputation of being one of the leading real estate golf tournaments in the Kansas City area with over 100 businesses participating and local media recognition.

The KC CREW Golf Committee provides members the opportunity to be involved in planning the KC CREW Annual Charity Golf Tournament and Silent Auction, which supports local non-profit organization(s) that tie to CREW's philanthropic interests (women and children). This committee provides additional networking opportunities for members, as well as sponsors and participants.

Committee Mission

Our mission as a committee is to organize, promote and implement the KC CREW Annual Charity Golf Tournament and Silent Auction event each year. The golf committee is a dynamic group of women golfers and non-golfers who put together the annual KC CREW golf tournament. This event offers optimum networking opportunities with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Women’s Employment Network, our charity of choice. More than 100 business leaders participate in this daylong event that includes an 18-hole scramble, lunch, Margarita bar, awards dinner, and a silent auction.

Main Tasks

• Develop and implement a schedule of events including:

  1. Establish date for event
  2. Solicit and secure a golf course to hold tournament and post event
  3. Prepare a budget confirming positive cash flow
  4. Promote and acquire sponsorships
  5. Solicit donations for Silent Auction event
  6. Organize Awards presentation
  7. Coordination of event including volunteers to help with setup, registration of guests, and distribution of raffle tickets, etc.
